Viz is a term that is borrowed from the scuba diving community. Viz, or visibility, is a measure of the distance at which something can be clearly discerned. So, for scuba divers, it’s a word describing how clear the water is. We don’t want anything related to scuba diving but we do want to introduce the concept of clarity, which is critical for effective communication.
