this was a logo design contest not stationary design!....disappointed!

well ive gone too far from the eye concept since the Ch said that if i can come up with another design without the eyeball concept, and here we have a winner with an eye icon.. some CH are funny..

Hey mbatt, it seems now my suspicions are correct. Aside from the "blocky" letter specifics and "abstracts" it's easy to see as with most people you simply like what you like. Using the eye above the 'i' in the first thing I (and I'd say many other designers would have too) had thought of but stayed away from it because it is a concept that has been reproduced ad nauseum and will not give you a powerful brand. The only thing that will make you different is your name.

I hope you can finally come away with something that will be truly unique instead of a replay. That says nothing about the actual quality of the designs here...the ones which include that concept are superior in quality.

Senjula, I already PMed you about this, but here's the deal: I'm not entering this contest, so have at it (no conflict of interest here with what I'm saying/have to say). But I WILL say that I know exactly where you got the the dude in your 13 Paces logo. Please don't ask me to hash this out publically because I really don't want drama. The 2 people on the planet who read what I had to say months ago about true "100% original work" know just how hawkish I am about SitePoint contest rules and how keen I am at finding sources.

TROPICANDREW..I will just take a shot in the dark you may be refferring to my entry that is using the same film reel that I designed for my 13 paces logo which was a winning entry and can be easily seen on my profile....and you are right but to clear this up now and in case I use the image in the future...I was NEVER paid for that design, I was declared a winner but the guy never contacted me again...just took off....and may I add used my concept in a similar design...so you can go ahead and name names or contact people directly in a mature fashion to see what is up. All my work has always been and will continue to be 100% original. And if you didnt mean me it was nice to finally speak up about that 13 paces logo...and I will continue to use my OWN original graphics in any design until they are sold.

Umm can i have some clarification...do you want a graphic or a typographic treament of your business name? Maybe I missed the point in your brief.

Wow, um designers, remember your contest guidelines: "Logo entries based on clipart, stock photography or stock artwork are not permitted." Not naming names, but I see one entry that re-uses clipart from another (winning, no less) entry by the same person.
