I was not aware you could award prizes for runner ups! Even so... I went over my logo budget when I raised the prize money from $295 to $400 (plus fees it was almost $600).

The fact that so many of you did such good work without a monetary reward surely makes me think twice about using a service like this in the future. I hate the feeling of people investing so much without getting compensated.

In any case, I hope through my feedback and design "demands" at least you found new ideas, techniques or inspiration by being involved in this contest.

Alright everybody, we're ready to choose the winner of the Sursocial logo contest! It was not was not easy picking one, there was some beautiful work from many of you. Especially: Fuaadh, Maverickreg, ArtGie, Rio, Resp45, LatinaCRG and Surmise.

In the end I had to let go of my control over this contest and invite A LOT of people to view and feedback about the finalists. Many wise people helped choose the logo, based on many things: relevance, versatility, effectiveness, and of course aesthetics.

So Thanks to all of you, I apologize that there can only be one winner... best of luck to all of you in the future.

Hey guys! About feedback: It's the least I can do, after all you're all working hard on this and deserve at least a few words on your efforts. Besides, if I say nothing I get nothing, if I guide you then things evolve positively.

About my ratings: Yes, I agree, I haven't been too strict on the 4's. But here's how I'm working:
- 2 or below are pretty much out of the question for me.
- 3's are concepts I will keep reviewing, sometimes things get better with time, sometimes they get worse...
- 4's are designs that have "wowed" me in some way, they are inspiring to me, and I'm sharing them with friends, colleagues and some very, very knowledgeable branding gurus for their advice. These are the designs that I'm investing the most time in in working together with the designers to continue to tweak them. In some cases I consider that certain 4 stars designs are "done" and they are on my shortlist to be considered for finalists.
- 5's I believe I gave two 5 stars, and then I brought them down to 4. Once we choose our finalists we will give those 5 stars and possibly use social media (twitter and / or facebook) to bring people in to review them and feedback)

The final choice will be made fairly quickly and based on many things... So now you know I guess.
