palmater that grinder is awesome. good job and great concept!
do you want something with gears like this maybe: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped…dvideo.jpg
#34 Can you take this to more of a "logo"? We really like the direction you're going...feels kind of "Old Hollywood".
Been busy the last couple days, so I haven't had time to give feedback...so, he's my catchup:
#57 The logo feels more like it's for a car than a video services. I understand the intent though.
#58 I like the color scheme here, and the overall feel. I'm partial to the 'depth' of #62, though. If you could add some 'depth' and 'polish' to #58, I think it could be a contender.
#63, #64, & #65 I like the 'speed' of #64, but would prefer to see a screen coming out the right side of the gears (as in #63) instead of the film. Some 'depth' might help as well.
#66 & #67 I really dig the overall look you've got going, but the arrow doesn't work for me.
#68 I appreciate the submission, but it's missing a level of integration that's needed. The elements are feel very separate from each other. Please look at some of the 4 and 5 star rated logos for reference of what we're looking for.
#74 I'm trying to avoid the flames for 'speed' or 'fast'. I'm leaning more toward 'sharp' 'polished' and 'easy'.
#70 & #72 the screen just doesn't work for me in combination with your other elements.
#73 & #74 Yeah. I'd like to see some depth on the letters, but, yeah. Good stuff.
#75 It's a good starting point, but reminds me of #21.
#76 & #77 Still too much blur in the background. I do like the lines you added for the hint of speed. It should also feel more 'sharp'. I like the alternating colors for the tagline.
#78 Nothing like your other stuff; I had to double take that it was one of your entries. I'm trying to figure out what the element is...oh, a tv? Too ambiguous.
#79 I'm looking for more 'speed' 'depth' and 'polish'.
#81 & #82 Both contenders!
Once again, thank you all for your submissions. Doing a lot of eliminations now...
design Submitted....feedback awaited
thannnnx...will work on that...
#43 I feel the design is a decent starting point but needs more 'speed' and 'depth', as well as some polish.
#44 I like the color scheme here. It's easy to read and works. I'm stuck on giving any feedback, as I can't really pinpoint anything missing. I'd like an element of video/film/media, but I'm not sure it would 'add' anything worthwhile. A potential contender (on my first cup of coffee)
#45 I like the scheme of #44 better.
#46 The 'A' seems out of place, feeling 'sharp' while the rest feels 'soft'
#47 Interesting. I feel it's missing a sense of media.
#50 I like the design overall. I feel it needs more 'speed' and I don't like the idea of a 'pause' button...we don't want people to 'stop' or 'pause'. :-)
#51 I feel the design could use some more 'speed' and 'aggression' (think grinding). Also, the 'pause' button can be dropped. (see above)
#52 The design is too whimsical and the grinder seems to lean toward a Jack in the Box toy. I think some sharper edges would help (btw, what's the thing coming off the bottom right of the grinder box?). Please don't use 'pause' and 'stop' icons.
#53 I like this design quite a bit. I think removing the film canisters and lens from behind the screen will help (it reminds me of Mickey Mouse right now). Some 'speed' and 'depth' might bring it further.
#54 I like the concept behind the design, but it could use more 'speed', 'depth', and polish. Please avoid using 'pause' and 'stop' icons. Also, the specific shade of green that's being used doesn't work for me.
#55 What a great approach! I'd like to see some 'speed'. Other than that, minor things like moving the TM to the tagline and a period after verify would need to be done. Fantastic.
#56 I'm not sure about the stars. One one hand I like the element of 'magic'. On the other I feel it distracts. Gonna need more coffee...
Again, thank you to all of you for your submissions!
Any feedback on mine?
#42 I really like what you've done here. I think the font could be a little 'easier' and overall the logo could be less 'cold'. I'd like it to be more inviting, especially to non-tech people.
i'll adjust the "a"...glad you like it. i will try out a few other fonts as well
#37 The logo is too difficult to read; the blur in the background is too much. I lean more toward your entry #20, which is more simple.
#38 The filmstrips made the logo too busy and 'difficult'. I really like the grinder you've submitted, as it has a certain 'sexiness' about it. The 'a' is too difficult to make out (i.e. is it an 'o' or an 'a'). I really like the color scheme.
#39 The blur or sheer that you added made the logo difficult to make out. I think if you use your original submission, and 'lean' the text you can get some feel of 'speed' out of it. I'd also like to see it more 'edgy' or 'sharp'.
#40 The 'a' is difficult to read. Other than that, I feel it's a contender! Thanks!
#36 That definitely made me smile. That's 'easy' and 'fun', and has a small element of 'speed'. I'd really like to see a little more 'speed' and a little more reference to video/film (the arrow does evoke that 'play button' feel, thanks...just like to see a slight bit more...).
#34 I like the direction. I feel that it needs more 'speed' and 'edge'. Also, the tagline should be 'Create. Place. Verify.' (note: you have 'Play' instead of 'Place').
#35 Interesting take on a gear; I think that's supposed to be a gear, yes? It does evoke a 'flow' and 'liquid' feel, which I think is inline with the concept. I'd like to see something with a little more 'speed' and 'edge' overall, instead of just with the A (which could use a little more, too).
@atrox Thanks for your proposals today, and for working with my feedback. I realize there's a slight barrier communicating solely via text/images.
#32 I like the second of the three. Just not sold on the concept, as it feels 'common' (as in I feel like I've seen similar designs). Maybe it's too 'easy'?
#33 The film piece feels like it's being forced into the design, instead of organically belonging. Also something about it feels like a political bumper sticker...maybe the combination of colors and font?
Hey thanks for all the feedback again. This might be my last entry for tonight. i'll work no abstracting the tv-grinder concept some more tomorrow.
Take care!
