Description of business

The Reef Ecology Lab is a marine research lab in a university in Saudi Arabia. We are a group of researchers studying various aspects of coral reef ecosystems in the Red Sea, including the behavior and ecology of different reef animals (e.g. whale sharks, other sharks, manta rays, groupers, snappers, corals, etc…). One of the primary aims of our research is to acquire adequate information about coral reefs in the Red Sea that enables us to conserve and protect them.
We consider ourselves to have the Team Zissou spirit but with the Team Hennessey resources.

We DO NOT want any dolphins or whales in the logo. This is too stereotypical and we don't work on marine mammals anyway.

This logo will be used in rashguards, tshirts, hats, etc.

One possibility is to echo the generic form of the basic KAUST logo (see http://www.kaust.edu.sa). You may note that the Red Sea Research Center logo follows this theme with four images loosely matching the four KAUST colors and arrangement. This is not a requirement, just a possibility.
