I was thinking about this contest and about the brand overall. Have you considered rebranding tweet photo, and changing the company name altogether?
The reason I suggest such a dramatic change is that you mentioned that you're now developing 3rd party apps for others such as foursquare and vimeo. As a brand your are closely linked to twitter for obvious reasons, to the point it's pretty much impossible to brand your company in such a way that would communicate your priorities don't lie exclusively with twitter.
Which is why I feel that the majority of the designs here (including my own) are mutations of something that would be better at home on twitter.com. Imho, to create a strong brand, you really need to distance yourself from the strong brand that is twitter, best way to do that, change the name.

Don't forget to also design the footer logo as the brief states. It needs to tie into the header logo.
