Thanks to everyone who has participated. I think it's been a great competition.
The top entrants remained strong throughout and it was a tough call. Firstly the runners up...
* Threat - A great well balanced (too) modern font
* SLJ - Great monotone design
* Heatro - Good monotone design
And the trophy holders...
Third place (no prize): SolidMedia#8 (Good and solid, but just lacked that bit of je ne sais qua)
First place (Tie) ($100): Irisbox#1 (Outstanding initial entry)
First place (Tie) ($100): BWRX#14 (Excellent progression and final revision)
It was very hard to call, IrisBox's design has a great logo concept and a solid font but feels a bit fresh. BWRX's design has a killer font that's immediately usable. Both great entries and addressed the needs of the competition well.
The competition spec says "The winners will be chosen on a combination of their overall best design and the introduction of original "non-obvious" design elements or improvements". Irisbox has a great original logo, BWRX a cohort of very original font modifications and outstanding overall design.
So, if you will excuse my changing the total $200 prize structure a bit, I've called it a dead heat and tie between two very worthy winners.

i really hope you pick irisbox's even if you ask him to change up a few things. I don't see a problem to much in using headphones as its still audio and there are a lot of headphone amps and what not being developed on the forums. I just think that diyAudio needs an image to go with it. And the one irisbox made is very good IMO. Having just the lettering just seems to plan and boring to me. I will admit that it does look a little young...but i can easily see even the more mature crowd wearing a tshirt or say maybe a polo shirt with a small logo up where a pocket would be? That doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

Yes, Irisbox's entry is excellent. I also very much like the seated letter i's in Ella_Z's entries (which to me is a good example of the kind of customized font look I'd love to see), though not the entries themselves.
