Thank you atrox; I'm sorry you also were deleted, as I love the graphic in your logo #1 and I think #26 is eyecatching, although they don't seem to have a name, just webcoredesigns ....

Hi #26, do you have a name? Just to say I think your design is cool... and there are quite a few other designers that really stand out...

    To mstaffers:
I'm sorry you thought it looked like Mt Rushmore (I'm not from the US, so didn't see any connection). But to say it was so off base that you 'didn't bother with feedback' is, I consider, rude and quite disparaging to the time and effort I take over designs. It might not have been what you were looking for, but only by giving feedback about any design, do we the designers 'get inside your head' so to speak and then are able to have a better understanding of what you want.
I have noticed through these contests, that there seem to be many designs all looking similar, so when you said you didn't want one 'in a long string', I tried to do something different. And by not giving feedback, how are we to know where we going wrong.
Courtesy doesn't cost anything, so please don't be so harsh, in just deleting designs without feedback... designers do put in many hours completely free, in the hope of being chosen for the winning design. So as you can imagine, there is much disappointment when our particular designs are not chosen; just having all designs deleted without feedback helps no-one, least of all the Contest Holder, as you/they run the risk of not having a spectacular design entered because previous ones were just deleted without feedback. It gives us no incentive to enter more designs....

    To innershell:
You said "You have to read between the lines and understand what the customer really wants" and that was what I was trying to do, but without feedback how are we as designers to know what the HC wants...
so your argument doesn't hold up.
And I would rather have a lot of feedback, as you state in your second message, because it gives lots of direction. A CH who has many ideas/feedback about designs, is trying to get the best design they can and I applaud a CH like that. And besides, they have certain ideas and only by getting them designed, can the CH then decide if what they originally thought, works..
So, please all Contest Holders, give us feedback which we can work on and then we can design more in line to what you want..

This is an example of my favorite useless CH feedback from this site:

"I like the logo but not the symbol and the text.

Try a checkmark, add a shake-hands icon above a globe, all this fit in a speech bubble. If you could try some arrows/swooshes arround the globe..that would be really nice and try some nice fonts, like...ComicSans."

peachesQT: Designing a logo is more than just reading a brief and adhering your logo to the brief. You have to read between the lines and understand what the customer really wants. So if your design gets eliminated, take it as a sign that your direction and approach is way off base. The CH "could" leave feedback and say "I don't like everything about it: the style, the layout, the colors, the font, the gradients, the shadow, the reflections, the angles, the weather, the humidity, and the temperature" but it is not going to help either. I would prefer a CH that eliminates designs without feedback (technically elimination is feedback) versus a CH that does not leave any feedback after starting the contest.

    That's my $0.02.

    I concur to Sean's comment...
I designed what I thought was a modern styled logo, clean and distinct and certainly not in 'one long string', yet I see one of the entrants has received a star for doing just that, (no reflection against the designer Waydes); so without any feedback after being eliminated, I see little point in designing anything else (as each design takes some considerable thought and time), because the brief obviously isn't being adhered to by the Contest holder.
Feedback should be given each day without fail, if the very best logo is to be designed. We cannot work in the dark, so to speak, written feedback is essential to us, as designers. We all have vivid imaginations for designing, but without the feedback steering us in the right direction, we design what we feel is right but this isn't always what the contest holder wants.
So, come on Contest holders, be more forthcoming with your comments and feedback, please?

Why dont you provide feedback for the people you eliminated?.. maybe then you'll get MORE designs... people really need to learn how to use this site.
