Sorry - We have been in some addional discussions with Scathmere to establish a longer-term working relationship for more web graphics before the official launch. We have declared his concept the winner for this logo contest, but there are some modifications he is now in the process of making.
Please know this was very difficult for us to judge, so it has taken longer than you would have liked. I apologize.
The two very close runners-up were the first submission (#286040) by andrevandyk and the last version of the tree (#287585) by Pixelsoldier.
Thanks to all, sorry for those who were not picked. Remember, before you die, tell someone you want to be burial in an environmentally-friendly way!

Sitepoint seems to have applied some blur to the jpegs that are ripped by there system for layout. By blurring them they can save a little HD space & DL times. Just FYI :)
My entry looks slightly blurred when rolled over but once you have clicked on the link ( http://contests.sitepoint.com/conte…286655.jpg ) it is crystal clear :)

The preferred logo so far is from 'andrevandyk' but looking for a pioneer hint to that. We also like the theme of the logo from 'winstonstockholm', and the leaf in the word by 'larsson'. For leaves, we like the Maple or Aspen leaf, but, a sprig of a fir tree & small pine cone may be preferred since we are at a higher elevation.
Is it me or are the wings from 'SVargo' from the movie "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks! :)
The logo from 'interceptor' is too religious. Simple burial, especially the use of shrouds, are used by non-christian cultures.
