Hi all. We are narrowing down the entries to the top 5....I will let you know who you are in the field with your design. Our homeowners association board will take a look, and we expect a fairly quick response. (quick for them is about a week). I'll be back in touch! Thanks to all who participated.

Also very close to ITC Berkley Std, Clearface Gothic, and URW Agenda, but the Californian worked for me because
I already had it installed... ;-)

Oh, BTW, I live about 3 miles from that sign and have even gone by and touched the sign and looked at the font used.

Well, I found that FB-Californian, with modified E, A and O's, is the closest to font used.

Can't be the Pastonichi OR the Centaur, look at the 'S'. Those both have larger serifs,
Californian has a very smooth serif, almost undetectible.

Keep in mind that the sign was laser carved by a computerized laser carving system and
it had to be a digital font.

note on that font. As far as I can tell, its not a true font. Its a custom designed one and basically a logo unto itsself. Sort of. Its based on Pastonchi MT Regular SC or
Centaur MT Small Caps I believe. That's with the o's shrank and the bottom part of the O added in as just a plain rectangle with the tang. Pastonchi and Centaur are the only fonts with the times new roman look with the sideways tilted O from default at least from what I can tell (or at least that I found). Then the E is just cropped out to even the middle bar to the vert bar and half the tang cut off. Then hollow the A out, drop a upside down triangle in it and thats it. Thought that might be useful to someone so I thought Id post it up, although most seem to have replicated it pretty well I thought the CH might find that useful in the future if needing to do textual items that match.

Hello all. Mr. Baseball is correct...there are definitely no mountains in Austin, TX. I think Canyon is even a bit of a stretch, but we do have some "hilly" canyons. :) I know that many of you wanted to know the font that was used originally in the photo I attached. Since this is a neighborhood association, someone in the early days of the neighborhood created this, and that information is not available. I see a number of entries where you have worked it out, and are definitely close enough!! Since the street signs are all engraved, we just needed to keep this consistent. They definitely want a little spark added, though, for print materials and so forth. So the latest entries are on the right track. Thank you everyone!!!

Oh, BTW, this residential community is in Round Rock, Texas, near Austin, so there are no mountains.
