looking more and more like an abandoned contest to me. Or just a phishing trip in the first place.
How long does one have before they announce a winner? Unlimited?

If you guys would participate a little more in the community, such as reading the forums, you would now that a lot of changes to the marketplace and contest area are coming.
You also might know that this type of banter in the general chat of a contest is expressly prohibited.

Dmitriy and Vlad! I agree with both of you. But. Correctly organized communications between the contest holders and designers concerning the detailed description of work, every possible wishes and recommendations, the links to adequate analogical projects in web, constructive continuous feedback and DESIRE TO GET RESULT can make wonders in business interaction. If you have started a contest you accept the risks of its results. But in situation when the contest holder has no his own risks there is a space for unpleasant infinite SUSPENDINGS. And our designs that are the part of our talent, our time and our waiting become only a forgotten trash.
hey about the protection... there is an other extreme too. If for every contest will be a winner maybe the contest holder is not satisfied. And so he/she will be obligated to buy a stupid design that even not fits his / her requirements.. etc.
The mechanisms of protecting must be. I am off too. Thank you. We are not a community, we are not a team, we are not a guild, because we cannot protect us.
Yeah, your complaints are falling on deaf ears. It seems more than half the contests I enter are abandoned - which is why I don't enter many anymore. I believe the contest money should be held by Sitepoint and if the contest holder runs off, there should be some kind of voting system to choose a winner.
