@Pulcritude: thanks for the answer. I've only been for about a week but now I get what you meant. And it's a shame, and I agree on making the contests pre-paid.
Also, there should be a filter to get in, because I see designs like #158 get two stars and mine get zero stars (#49, #50, #51), And I don't even know if the CH even looked at mine.
Also, I don't even know what the #158 logo means, a fireplace? A match and some gas? And the typeface, OMG...
But when I see that the brief says "don't use a guitar", and the winner logo IS a guitar, I don't know what to think. And the logo will be a pain to use, very small pieces, very angular, rough, unfinished.

As for being nonspecific to an instrument or area of music... I like #150 #131 #49 and #13 but it might be for more younger audience or to sound people.

Yes, after the 'ticketsolve' contest, I almost changed my username to 'designslave' - ugh! We are talented artists and people with PS, IL and more skillz, but we're sought after for 40 bucks! - desperate for gas money...
