Pending confirmation of a few details I've declared a winner. Congratulations to claurus. I put some wrap-up feedback in each of the final few entries including the winning one.

Sincere thanks again for everyone's efforts and support during my first contest.

Thanks EmLiam. Sadly my budget is pretty shot but I might have enough left to buy jemarc2004 a nice coffee. I did actually think about consolation prizes for runner-up and noteworthy entries after the contest started. I didn't budget for it this time but I'll probably put a bit aside for this purpose if/when I run the next one.

@Project Dave (contestholder): I feel sorry for "jemarc2004," as he was the first person to introduce play button concept to this contest and his entry is gone. I suggest that you pay him something as a second prize! (99designs.com has that option)

It's down to the last two entrants, so no more entries thanks. Sorry to drag this out but I'm just clarifying a couple of things before I make the final call.

In the meantime I'd like to say what an outstanding contest this has been. I've been blown away by the quality of entries. A couple of weeks ago I wouldn't have dreamed I'd be rejecting logos of such calibre. It breaks my heart to see some of them go.

I'll almost certainly come back for more contests in the future. Thanks again everyone - amazing work!

I'll be announcing the winner tomorrow after the final vote, probably about 20 hours from now.

In a couple of days I'm holding a voting session to decide the winner. At the moment I'm considering about 16 entries from about 10 designers. All of these will probably be included in the vote, but it seems likely that one of the 4/5-star entries will win.

One factor that was discussed last night was the possibility of animating the logo. I should have thought of this when I did the brief. I'm just letting you know that I'll be imagining various was to animate the logo (e.g. for a video sting) so that may play a part in the decision, albeit a small part.

Apparently the "Remove" button doesn't actually remove comments, it just collapses them. Oh well.

I still like the play button concept but I'm not ruling anything out, in fact it would be nice to have a few different concepts for consideration.

I'd really like a logo that works well with different backgrounds, as well as being suitable for a favicon and video watermark.

I would prefer that new entries aren't just variations on other people's designs. Obviously designers will be drawn to concepts that I've shown a liking for, but at the same time I'm likely to dismiss designs that are too similar to existing entries.

BTW I removed some distracting comments - I trust the people concerned had time to read and respond first. PM me if you're not happy.

okaaay... thanks ulahts for your input. I'm thinking I'll leave these comments here until I'm sure scorpionagency has had a chance to read and respond, then I might remove them all if that's okay so I can bring the focus back to my own updates and anything new.

And for your knoledge scorpionagency - illustrator has a tool called opacity mask.
That's the most pure vector transparency i have ever found in any software in 11years of graphics
and reproduces very well on all mediums, fully scalable and easy to edit.

"standard gradients"..."convert to bitmap" - what do you understand from standard gradients.
I have worked in a printing house as machinist for 7 years. I have seen layout compositions
using both gradients and flat colors all are very ok in printing.

Transparencies, gradient meshes and gradients will all expand in vector shapes.
Emboss filters, 3D mappings...everything can go into vector, you just need how to build them.
Why are you confusing the contest holder, and since
you have discovered Gradient Mesh tool a few days ago i don't think you are in the position
to explain what is and what isn't. This may affect CH decission.

    All the bests,
