I think it's the CH who's got to worry about these things. I know the story of 'sour grapes' and my best advice to you is to concentrate on your own designing.
For your info. I've delivered the Vector format of the logo to the CH and he's extremely happy with that.
    Bye.

i also have grave doubts as to usage of that logo in anyway. Maybe contest holder's should be given suggestive guidelines when they post contests so they are more well informed about certain aspects of logo design as far as how they should be designed, so that they are not given some sort of "photoshoped", unprintable design. I am very disappointed in the results of this contest, on both sides of things.

Webtide, you are 100% correct and I will put a little space in between mad and river. As to the matrix piece, maybe it is a bit matrix-esque. Ok more than a little. We will see what happens when I create a website template with this as the "muse." There is no way I would be able to extend the digital waterfall, the matrix part of it, to that anyway or Neo and the thought police would be hunting me down, never mind Joan Rivers for my bad taste. It will however give the impression I am looking for on other things a small business needs, t-shirts, business cards, stationery, etc.

I'm alittle shocked. To me it reads 'driver' and also trying to make matrix your own brand is a mistake in my opinion.

Anyway don't want to sound like a bad loser.... Congrats vskeerthu!

You guys creating with the wrong programs need to read the brief, or give the CH their money back.

I was just gonna say that. Looks like photoshop to me. It will not resize for signage and that will make for one unhappy 300.00 logo.

I like the simplicity of both vskeerthru and webtide's designs. I can see how they will lend themselves well to other contests (t-shirts, stationery, webpages, flash etc.) My wife likes Pegatinas design although we both agree it needs a bit more oomph (which I could probably say for all of them at this point). Koo and Jake, don't give up. See what you can do with the feedback I gave you. Same for you Puppy. A lot of the contests you won the graphics are great.

Putting the company name right on top of the graphic tends to muddy the graphic for me unless its extraordinarily clean and sharp. The graphic should complement the company name and vice versa. If your going to juxtapose one on the other then I'd suggest that you make the company name the digital river then have the consumer be riding that. Heck, you could also do the same thing with the company name and have the person image be body surfing off the side, like catching air on a boogie board. Maybe put a headset on them, or otherwise symbolize technology gadget know-how somehow.

In a perfect world the viewer should get that Mad River Systems is an exciting company that helps its customers navigate the wild river that finding the right technology solution is most of the time for companies and individuals.

Looking for rafting/canoeing a digital river in the concept. I'd accept surfing too. Just googled a link below of someones picture white water rafting. Not suggesting you use this picture. But when I visualize the logo I see someone going doing a river. Perhaps the river is a wave of 1s and 0s or something otherwise digital-like (Jonny Mnemonic?). Maybe something riding that wave to represent the guiding/sheparding aspect of the request then wrapping the company name to the image. Or maybe take a surfing theme on a wave/river, the surfer holding technology items. Maybe something that feels like the ipod graphics in their advo with the person blacked out except for the tech gear highlighted. (should have majored in graphic design!)
