If you choose something that is similar to an established brand then your identity will be lost. You should choose directions that contrasting to what you suggest because that is how you stick out- being different- not rolling with the crowd or playing follow the leader. If you follow the leader then all your ever be is a follower rather then the one leading. Thats not to say that some of design are well suited but, from a professional standpoint that is the advice I would give any client wanting to follow in someone else's footsteps. With that said, I think ulaugts design is most unique and will make your brand stand out the most in comparison to all the bull logos that will lost with the rest of the needles in haystack. Thats just my opinion so you can take it what its worth though I'm just going by what logo I think is the most successful resolution to your problem at hand- establishing an memorable and unique identity.

I would like to respectfully request that the simpler designs vis. wizardbgr and mine, be reconsidered.
My reasons for this being:
the investment industry in particular should go for strong simple corporate branding.
It takes less than a second to notice, digest, and record the logo.
The simplicity lends itself well to multiple mediums and multiple ad campaigns.
Investors want fund managers to be cold and scientific with their money, not artistic and impulsive. Using a graphically complicated logo sends the wrong message.

If I do not adequately understand your business model, I understand and will bow out of the contest. I only ask that you consider some of my points.
