Things got a bit rocky due to my ignorance and for that I apologize.

It was a tough choice between all of the logos that made it to the end. To all who entered--thank you for all the great entries!

Hey RSYMONDS why don't you reject all the entries that didn't make the cut so that we all have a clear view of the top entries?

Hey ivysaysouch - I can see that you're concerned about the way I'm running the contest. To be honest I am having a hard time keeping up with things due to my schedule. That is my fault. Aside from my poor response time, could you please be more detailed and describe specifically which part of the cut and feedback process you feel is not working well and why? This could help all of us out. Without details it is difficult to understand your position.

PLEASE NOTE--I did post ahead of time how I would be doing cuts and giving feedback. I use this process because time is limited. I can't give thorough, thoughtful feedback on each entry. It would take way too much time. It only makes sense to give feedback on concepts that have potential for the current project. If a concept is not accepted, it is not because it just needs a tweak or two. It is because it just doesn't fit. If it only needs tweaks, it makes the cut and gets feedback.

Also keep in mind that nobody is being forced to participate. If you don't like the concept of cuts and feedback, I understand. It's not for everybody. That is why I detail my process up front. If you don't like it then don't participate.

That being said, I have found that this method--although not perfect by any means--works out much better than you might expect. I see some outstanding designs emerging that I've very excited about. This process makes things manageable for me. People can read my latest update and have a pretty good idea what is going on immediately instead of having to read each entry. Everybody can see which designs are on the right track and which aren't. This helps out designers that have made a design that wasn't accepted. They can see where they might want to go in terms of concept should they see a design they like. I know that specific feedback would be way more helpful but again--I just don't have the time.

I know this process isn't perfect. If anybody has suggestions they are appreciated. I'm using what I learned from a previous design contest where the entries and feedback quickly became overwhelming. My feeling is that for a contest like this, SitePoint should introduce the concept of cuts into their process to help make the process a little easier to manage for all involved.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and thanks for the entries! I will update in just a few.

    Rob

I think this method of "giving feedback" with these "cuts" is ridiculous and not helpful at all. I don't think it's the way to get the most out of this site and all the talented designers.

no, i believe you dont need to have a western union account. you simply indicate the name and other information about the recepient and his location. you just have to give the money to western union outlet there and i'd get it from an outlet here.. :) so are you willing to try that in case i win? thanks

UPDATE - Wow I didn't give feedback yesterday because I didn't think there would be this many entries. I'll give feedback and make a cut today midday and then just continue to do it midday. Sorry for any confusion. I really didn't expect so many entries so quickly. Thanks for the great work!

@kroz - Do I need a western union account to accept those payments?
