We have selected a winner.

There were so many fantastic designs.

However quite a few designs seem to underestimate the importance of the favicon/symbol, that would be seen in the browser bars, and used as our profile picture on Twitter and Facebook.

Some symbols were absolutely fantastic. However, the fonts used did not blend well together with the symbol. Also, some of the symbols, despite their fantastic designs, were either a bit too tall/wide, while some simply did not create the sense of uniqueness.

The winning logo was chosen because it has a very unique feel about it, and it has a great favicon that we are happy to use.

The logo has the right width and height and will look good on business cards, billboards as well as online.

We have chosen 16 finalists and have awarded only those 16 finalists with 5 stars.

We will now do some consultations with various people before we select a winner.

Only a few more hours left in the contest now guys. As you can see we have awarded a lot of designs with 5 stars. Most 5-star designs are unique and we will give serious consideration to ALL of them.

It will be hard to choose a winner. However the winning design must look good online, in print, on TV, on billboards and be easy for us to work with in terms of branding.

The logo concept must also look professional and stand out when used on Facebook, Twitter, etc., and as a Favicon.

As I said before the contest is extremely close. We have not decided on a winner yet. So, there is still chance for you to improve your existing concepts where possible and create new ones.

Another thing as well guys, we will use the the brand to sell flights and other travel reservations.

The last thing that we would want to do is to give people the fear of flying.

So, your designs should look practical in the sense that any flight path used in your designs looks realistic. Some designs are great, but the aeroplanes do seem bound for a disaster. :-(

Please revise your work and ensure that any aeroplanes used seem real and practical.

It is best to use aeroplanes that look/resemble 4-engine passenger aeroplanes (if you used aeroplanes in your designs) as we will be selling commercial flights, and not private jet hire etc.

Also, bear in mind that the actual size of the favicon in the browser bar is only 16x16.

I trust that you all know what a favicon is. Good old Google can help you if you don't know.

Favicons are increasingly being used by all major brands as a powerful branding tool.

It is now less than 2 days before the contests comes to an end. Some of you have got some great designs, but it is hard to imagine how the Favicon will look.

Unless it is already obvious, it may help if the designs (with 4 and 5 stars) show how their favicon will look, similar to how Shah presented his design in #194.

The favicon will greatly influence our decision!
