    I want to thank everyone for your submissions. It was very difficult to choose! I just want to let everyone know that the reason I chose my winner is because it is a simple, modern look without being *too* web 2.0-like (no reflection!) I also very much liked the conversation bubble which could also be used throughout the site on its own and even as the favicon for the site. It really stood out as being more of a "brand" and less of just a heading to be used at the top of a page. I hope one day the logo is as famous as the Yahoo "Y!" or the MSN butterfly! :)

    This is the 1st time I used sitepoint and I'm really impressed by all the creativity out there. I have spread the word about this site and how great it is. I wish everyone the best of luck with all your designs in the future!

    Just an update - I reported the troll who left the nasty message and it looks like his comment was removed. I was told he has been banned...just thought you would like to know.

    Also, I've narrowed it down and will select a winner tomorrow (as soon as I deposit my paycheck so I can actually pay the winner!) :) So maybe sometime tomorrow after work (EST).

    DesignVHL - I do consider myself a professional, I have a degree from a great school in Graphic Design, and I'm proud of the work that I do. If you don't like Sitepoint and what it is set up for (making clients happy with the logo that they want and that they pay for) then don't enter. If you think that you're too good for this, than leave...I don't want to sound rude, but as a designer, I know that I have TONS of fun working to make clients happy, and that is what this is all about...

    Hope this doesn't sound mean, but if you aren't happy - then leave...no one is making you stay here and design things...

    I'm sorry but I have to comment on this, as I've just found this section of the SitePoint forums. I think that posting a "design contest" for cheap and free work is pathetic. Your cheapening our industry. We work our asses off, we went to school to learn this trade and we consider ourselves professionals. It is really insulting to any good designer. Clients be wary as you get what you pay for. Flame me, say what you will but I know that any good professional designer would never stoop to cheesy design contests - Lets thank the cheap ass clients!

    Sitepoint and other sites that do this should be ashamed of themselves for offering this section!

    * and if your a designer doing this....I think you should know that NO GOOD will come of it...if your just a student or "trying to break into the industry" Visit the Design forum linked above and learn how to be a real design professional. You don't need to stoop down to this!

    OK Everyone,

    First of all, I want to thank everyone for the amazing entries. I never expected to get so many entries of such high quality. Now I'm beginning to have an idea of what I want my new website and logo to look like.

    So anyway, I'm going to remove some entries from consideration and narrow it down to some semi-finalists. If your logo is removed, thank you for the effort - it's probably not bad - just not what the look I was going for.
