Venetian mask with sunrise above plus some brakets. Very impressive and goes nicely bad in photocopying or black and white version. Like a funeral services logo. Happy!

I'm sorry you feel that way. I think you had entered this contest but you must have withdrawn your entries? I completely understand.
You must understand though that this decision isn't made by one person, and you have no clue what direction they might want to go in (nor might I).
Calling it in bad taste also belittles the work and effort of your fellow designers on this site - whom you may one day come to respect. After all, they are your co-workers.
