I have to agree with DZynd4U. The logo might get your company into really serious trouble.

    But anyways, gratz to pathliner

Well, this contest sure does bring out some weird reactions from some of you guys. This is pretty sad. Particularly the attacks on Pathliner.

I can't say who will win at this point... there are 5 days left and everyone is open to submitting an entry.

Its quite possible we will buy two designs from different people if we like them.

    Dear FlawlessDesign...
    ======================
    - Potentially you have valid points here, but by my scorecard you're just frustrated sour grapes.
Discussion is one thing, whining is another.
Try to be a shade more politic in your rants, please.
    Sweet Regards!

Wow! Nice reply DZynd4U. I agree too. I think that you should be VERY careful with the logo because as we all know GOOGLE is VERY powerful. That reason may bring your "company-"d own if your not careful. No offense, but I think Pathliner's design is too googlish. You should think twice before uploading that logo on your site.

Do not take this reply as an offense but you should be careful.

There was absolutely nothing remotely close to Yahoo's logo about my design, not even for inspiration. I have no idea what you were looking at. Your design briefing is way too like Google/Froogle, let alone your whole Google/Froogle inspired new site name: starts with an "F" and the double "O" and the ending "le" wow, call it coincidence, but I think not. Your words, "We love something like a "google" logo..." You sure do.

My designs were professional and 100% original and unique. I would have appreciated the fb and taken it as a grain of salt, however, what you said didn't add up. So, here I am giving you some fb. I noticed you made a similiar statement on other designs about the similiarity, well isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? How are you going to talk about similiarity issues when all you want in your logo is a ripped version of Google/Froogle's logo? Why wouldn't you want to make a business identity (I'm referring to your logo because that's what logo's showcase) for yourself verses shadowing a popular established company?

    Your briefing:

"We love something like a "google" logo but obviously don't want to get sued, so it must be unique! We mention Google just to give you a sense of our taste."

From your briefing, you are misleading designers into thinking that you want something unique, hence wasting designers time putting together a logo or two or more for you that is unique (well, not really wasted, can always be added to our portfolios). But I guess I should've known that you strongly desired a Google logo by the screenshot of your Google version design you posted in your briefing (http://foodle.net/img/preview.jpg) you posted right after that statement. Foolish me. LOL

If you question copyright infringement with your design, chances are you're infringing. If you know that a design does not look like another then why would you bother asking the opinion of others? And if you ask me, one person is one too many, do the math. The internet (which is seen globally) is not a small town of less than 500 people. If you ask 30 people and 1 says, yes...well the possible ratio is 1:30 and that's a lot of people, think of Google's corporation, who knows how many people they have working for them...but it's very possible one of them could be part of that ratio, count another thirty people within the corporation, now that's two and it goes on. When it comes to copyright infringment poll majority does not rule, nor will it be a very good defense in court and you have to be mindful of that. When in doubt pull it.

What you wear on your sleeve will be seen by many, that includes designs.

We should be able to leave CH feedback here on SP, maybe they are already working on a system to do so.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR COMMENTS... WHAT WAS MEANT BY THE INITIAL DESCRIPTION IS THAT THE GOOGLE LOGO IS OUR KIND OF TASTE IN DESIGN AND REPRESENTATION OF A BUSINESS.

SO WITH THAT IN MIND, DESIGNERS SHOULD CREATE LOGOS FOR US. OBVIOUSLY WE WILL DECIDE WHAT IS TOO CLOSE TO THE GOOGLE LOGO AND WHAT IS NOT WHEN WE MAKE A CHOICE IN A DESIGN.
