Brief Summary

We need a logo for an online noticeboard service called clikboard.

Brand Name

clikboard

Description

clikboard is a new web application that lets all sorts of groups and businesses create a noticeboard on the web. The thing that makes a clikboard different from, say, a simple web site, is that the author can easily change the content at any time, by simply clicking on the text with his web browser.

You can see the current styling of the site from these images: http://peerassembly.com/images/home.jpg http://peerassembly.com/images/new_board.jpg http://peerassembly.com/images/plans.jpg

Right now, we're thinking that the logo will appear on the top left of the header area, which means it should work well over those colors. It would also be nice if it could work on a white background.

The design of the site is very much based on familiar, non-threatening images like corkboard, push pins, post-its, sellotape, etc. We want people that would never dream of using an online service as part of their group to feel comfortable.

Also, since we don't have a bunch of money to spend on advertising, we need a logo that will be memorable and help people remember the site name.

Ideas we had so far (feel free to ignore these):

  • Putting the 'clik' above 'board' so that it's bracketed by the vertical of the 'b' and the 'd'.
  • Making the 'K' in Clikboard a capital to emphasize the missing 'c' (we like people to think clik not click)
  • Making something that looks like a glossy fridge magnet
  • Using an image like a link mouse cursor over a board
Wants
  • A clean, memorable design
  • An association between the design and the site name
  • Ideally, reducible to a favicon
Don't Wants
  • A boring design
  • Clipart
