Design brief

Brief Overview

I am starting a new choir for talented High School singers.
I would like a simple design, but memorable, and easy to recognize online, on stationary, and possibly even on a t-shirt.

Brand Name

Los Angeles Youth Choir

Target Audience

Primarily HS students, but parents (and donors) as well.

Requirements

I want the full name in the logo. In fact, I prefer if the name itself "is" the logo, made in a memorable, easily recognized format.

I am leaning towards a logo that includes text only, not a symbol, icon or picture. However, I will consider some small graphic or icon, if it strikes me. Be creative!

We're looking to be a top-notch choir, so our logo will need to present us as professional. I got the idea for a logo, from these logos:
http://www.worldyouthchoir.org/
http://www.nycgb.net/

They seem good, but I bet you can make one even better! Again, I am open minded and will look at anything.

I prefer blues and greens, but AM open to ideas and suggestions.

The winner will most likely be a professional, easily read logo, where the words themselves make up the majority of the design, with minimum other graphics. Again, small changes will be looked at, but I do not want artwork or icons to be the majority of the logo, with the text/letters underneath or beside it.
