Photo_Mommie won because she was able to successfully integrate multiple sports and the cheat sheet drag & drop functionality into a single logo. The main font is sports-related and the colors she chose were very nice and worked with my color scheme. Finally the dimensions of her logo worked well with my current layout because the banner is not very tall. There were several very nice designs in this auction but the winning logo worked the best for my site.

I've updated the description with a few more ideas. For those of you asking about a logo without any particular sports reference, you may want to check out fannation.com for an example of a sport-related logo that stops short of any particular sport. Still, logos that do includes sport references are welcome.
