CloseDesign brief
We need a fun and colorful logo and business card design for a new online music portal "aflatune.com". Think music portal for the hip and trendy Indian web 2.0 generation.
aflatune.com
Logo is for "aflatune.com - online music, evolved!". This web 2.0 site presents a large Indian pop music library that can be accessed as ad sponsored on-demand-streaming, ad sponsored mp3 downloads or by purchasing mp3s.
What is "aflatune"? In India, the word loosely means "amazing". Typically spelled "aflatoon", we spell it as "aflaTUNE" to indicate that we are about music. So aflatune = amazing music. The logo can subtly highlight the "tune" part of the word.
The core audience is Indian 20-somethings who prefer the western culture so we DO NOT want an overly Indian looking logo. We would love to see subtle/fun Indian touches (see for example http://aflatune.com/images/sample/d.png or http://aflatune.com/images/sample/s.png) - but that is not a must.
Be creative, this can be an out-of-the-box kind of design! See if the tagline "online music, evolved!" fits in.
Having a mascot in the logo would be great. One mascot idea is a cute elephant cartoon.. That would be subtly Indian and an elephant cartoon could be made to do a lot of things very effectively - like throwing colored water from its trunk for Holi festival; the elephant can be dressed up differently for different parts of our site like pop music and classical music, etc.
- Cool, web 2.0 style, trendy
- Very recognizable
- Great if it has a mascot
- Simple enough to adapt later to various themes (like google does with their logo)
- layered/vector PSD or similar.
- Overly traditional Indian theme (like taj mahal, flag, indian-script-like-font, etc)
