The four designers I selected as finalists are the ONLY designers who submitted designs that met the criteria I outlined from the beginning, including looking professional. I'm new to this site and expected 95% of the designs submitted to be decent. Instead, 95% of them are laughable.
I don't say I'm a great artist (that's why I'm using this site) but you don't have to be a great artist to have an eye for good design.
I will admit that piratepig's design was professional looking. The problem was that it in no way resembled what I described in the brief. It looked far techier than any of the logos I submitted as examples.
piratepig needs to grow thicker skin and learn how to take criticism. You do good work but it appears that your range is very limited. All of the logos I see in your portfolio are only suitable for things like UFC fighters and motorcycle gear. Don't get so bent out of shape and whine when people want something different.

your brief calls for a simple minimalistic logotype, a style's that's been executed very well in many of the submissions yet you don't seem to like any of them

You are the last person who can talk about design brief!!
The fact that you add 1 and 2 stars rating don't talk that you have amazing sense of art , but the opposite !!
So please don't pretend to be 21 century Leonardo and give those designers chosen real star ratings and feedback and I really believe you will award someone with your precious 300$!!

The designs that were eliminated without feedback were either off brief or looked like they were thrown together hastily. Designers whose submissions reflected that they had read what I wanted in the design brief were given specific feedback.
What is the design brief for if you're not going to read it?

I'm still not seeing what I asked for. I'm very reluctant to guarantee the contest when I'm not seeing the quality I want out of all of these entries. Does anyone have a better design?
really?only 2 minutes? for all concepts identity?from 1-15? perhaps you only need 5 minutes for pitchfork and need more 10 minutes for whipsaw becouse their sharp:) thank for ask me to joint
#s 1-15 are virtually all logos I can do in Photoshop in 2 minutes. I'm not saying they need to be super complex designs but please put more work into it than just typing out the name and toying with the spacing or removing the crossbar from the "A".
Relatedly, I do not want you to mimic the logos I uploaded as examples. Those are only to give you an idea of my taste/style.
