- Brief Summary
-
Biddy Friel’s is a genuine Irish pub in Ireland. It combines the feel of a traditional Irish pub with a more contemporary bistro/restaurant and it has established reputation for good music/events/functions.
The pub now wishes to develop a new logo that reflects this blend of traditional and contemporary.
The logo will be used primarily for signage initially, both on the pub itself and on directional signs, so it is important that the logo and/or fonts are very strong and easily read. The logo will also then be used for posters, menus, uniforms etc.

These two bits of information may be of help:
- Biddy Friel is a genuine Irish barmaid from the late 19th/early 20th Century.
- The pub itself has a dominant feature which is a Norman-style (11th Century) castle tower.
These may help but generally the key thing is to come up with a logo that can give the traditional Irsih bar a more contemporary twist that is easily recognisable on all branded materials.
- Wants
- Re: colours, black and creams (Guinness) may be preferable to obvious Green, but it's your choice!
- Don't Wants
-
- Don't go mad on the Irish thing - it can be subtle but has to look modern at the same time - not a John Wayne "Quiet Man" image.
