I'm very pleased you guys liked the contest,
I really wish i could shake most of the other CH's up, the quicker they realise spending time giving constructive feedback to EVERY entrant the better. Its a sure fire way to vastly increase the chances of them getting a number of entries that could be possible winners and ones much closer to their own tastes. It's no coincidence that we had 369 entries whilst others struggle to get 80 with larger prize funds!!! Even designs that are fantastic to one persons eye might not be to the CH's taste, but without direction how would you ever know!!!!!
I feel sorry for you designers, alot of hard work and not even the decency to explain WHY it's not suitable, it must drive you crazy!!
Anyway just a heads up to say that we were incredibly appreciative for all your hard work and when we hold our next contest i hope you recognise the name (matthewtutt) and join up with us again.
Thank you & good luck.
wow, thank you for choosing my design:)
thank you everyone for the congrats, this was an awesome contest, with incredible designs:)
Thank you all, this was a great contest. Congratulations Tini

After serious deliberation we have unanimously decided that tini1's entry best fulfilled our brief and had the right ingredients to be our winner. This decision was not made easy by the staggering amount of quality entries & getting the final list down to 7 was nearly impossible, but those 7 designs we felt were really exceptional and were all in the running.
Again thanks to all those that entered our contest, we shall be holding more in the future and we look forward to seeing you all again.
Special congratulations to tini1.
@CH thanks for having a nice contest and great ch to us
good luck guys :)
We have whittled the vast amount of entries down to just 7, they are: (not in order of preference!!!)

Once again, many thanks to ALL the designers that entered, we wish you all well.
Thank you guys for letting us know :)
LOL i just moved to Paris like 6 months ago
To everyone who has entered, many many thanks. The standard of entries has been outstanding.
Firstly to those who are awaiting feedback, we are currently away on business & are then travelling directly to Paris tommorrow morning (the day the contest ends) so have very limited time to give full feedback to the remaining few. However most are duplicate entries on promo gear so we intend to remove from consideration ALL the entries that are not in the running & all the entries that are duplicated, i.e the only ones left will be the shortlisted logo design entries ONLY. (this WILL include entries that are awaiting feedback.
This will help us make a final decision and hopefully we can declare our winner when we return on the 13th/14th March. (Note WE WILL be declaring a winner, see our other contest, we are aware some contests have been a sham, this one is most certainly not, we are genuinely away till that time so please be patient and keep checking back.
Again many many thanks to EVERYONE who has taken the time to enter, we are overwhelmed with magnificent designs and the decision is going to be very very difficult.
Good Luck to all for future projects & keep up the good work. (We'll see you again as there will be much more work available in the future)
Kindest Regards
Matthew Tutt & the Itsy Team
Just a quick note I had a private message from a guy who was inspired by the incredible amount & quality of entries our contest recieved, so much so he listed a re-design of his logo for a prize of $400. It was originally listed rather confusingly & this may have put people off, however he has cleaned the brief & description up & the contest is basically a logo design for the above amount, he only has 33 entries to date & it would be fantastic if you guys could wave your magic mice his way and make his contest as memorable as ours (Obviously i can't vouch for the validity of his contest but he seems genuine enough)
If you get the chance please take a look, so few entries is a real shame for a sitepoint contest, particularly when this contest is his benchmark!!!!!!
Thank you guys - http://99designs.com/contests/5699
Excuse me for being straight forward with this matter. I can perfectly understand that logos needs to be visualized even if being simulated. I know that very well, I do that a lot too. The point is when you have reached to a stage where the client (in this case, you) likes the logo and has given positive feedback. From my professional experience that could be deceiving as well, due to the 'spamming' or 'marketing' so to speak of the logo in question. I was just wondering if I have to show you the logo in every support I can think of or perhaps brainstorm about other ideas - this is crucial, I should be responsible for showing you variety, so that you can choose wisely, thats why I always describe my steps along the way. In fact I did what you asked, so I wasn't being cynical at all! If I must, I would gladly show you those applications but it's also my obligation, as a senior designer, to alert to the fact that by doing so, you are surely going to be more confuse and less objective regarding the evaluation of the logo itself in its raw shape. The branding or marketing, including all sorts of communications and promo gear where a logo must stand out and represent its purpose in a creative and well oriented way, - such as billboard, napkins, mugs, etc. - should come AFTER the logo design is accomplished - not the other way around. Just my opinion. And I intend to keep it for the sake of project methodology which is the most important thing in graphic design.
As for the last part of your comment, I did think before posting. And please don't confuse animosity/provocation with my attitude, its only for the sport of good design, I call it competition, after all I think this is a great contest and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Best regards,
João
Arpad are you referring to the amount of LOGO's being shown on promotional gear?
Surely you of all people should know that by doing this the CH can visualise a LOGO design much more effectively as it gives great indication as to EXAMPLES of how these COULD look if applied in the many ways it may be used.
Besides we included in the brief specific instructions from DAY ONE ------ "On previous contests we held, it really helped us visualise how the logo would work in the "real" world when the designs were superimposed onto generic promotional/vehicle/premises pictures. This is not mandatory at all, but if you have the ability to show us this, it really can swing opinion. (especially when there are more than one opinions to swing)"
As stated - it is NOT mandatory, but if a designer feels it may help his/her chance of winning the prize then this is personal choice and should in NO WAY be frowned upon nor questioned.
Comments like yours above are pointless and cast aspersions as to our intentions to get more than we have asked for!!, you know damn well it's a logo contest as is stated, and we shall categorically accept NO OTHER FILES than for the LOGO itself, and we have NEVER intended to.
We appreciate all the efforts made by EVERY designer who has entered, and we have only asked to see designs in this way if "they have the time" to do so, plus we have only asked designs that we feel are in the running to be chosen as the winner.
Anyway, this matter is now closed, but please think before posting in future as we feel there is too much animosity between designers as there is, without more provocation.
Kind Regards
CH
I don't get it.. isn't this a LOGO contest?
