Design brief

Brief Overview

We are an online media company involved in the creation of a number of unique projects in the photo sharing and social networking spaces.

The Company was founded by a group of entrepreneurs from both the online and corporate spaces, collaborating to form a dynamic and enthusiastic team committed to aggressively developing and marketing its key projects in the above spaces to the world, free of language, social and cultural barriers.

Based in Australia, the Company also has a presence in Silicon Valley and is intending on capitalising on the burgeoning Indian and Chinese markets in the near future.

The name Hotshot Media (the design can be Hotshot, HotShot or Hot Shot as you feel your design allows) represents the founders' distinctive and nonconformist attitude to doing business, as well as the basis for the Company’s truly unrivalled projects in the photo sharing and social networking spaces.

Brand Name

Hot Shot Media Pty Ltd

Target Audience

The Company's hallmark products are, as above, free from traditional barriers to networking - be they ones of language, socio-economic status or culture. They represent a unique foray into communication beyond classes - where networks are as diverse and multicultural as the world in which they operate.

Currently, the Company is meeting with a number of potential stakeholders, sponsors and collaboration partners, likely to be within industries as diverse as computers, cellphones and electronics; to travel and hospitality; to shoes and sporting apparel. From a short-term perspective, it is this audience that we wish to impress and attract.

Requirements

The Company needs a corporate identity including a logo, business cards, letterheads, With Compliments slips, a design to be printed onto CD/DVDs, and a document folder (by that I mean something like http://www.ballarat.edu.au/corpserv containing some documents, a promo DVD, business card etc).

The designs need to reflect the Company's quirky and idiosyncratic mentality while retaining a degree of professionalism commensurate with the stakeholders we wish to attract.

Don't be afraid to think outside the square with unusual patterns, textures, layers, cutouts and materials (within reason - they still need to be printed!).

In terms of colours, we're totally open to ideas, although it would be advisable to stay relatively bright & vibrant in keeping with the above theme. Some colours (not necessarily the ones we'll go with) to consider are: #330066, #66FF00, #FF3300, #0099FF, black and metallics.

Again, some suggestions (it may well be we choose a design with none of these included - they're merely to contextualise our thinking) are: cameras, a bullet 'shooting' through the logo, targets, cartoony thinking, technology/web 2.0.

It's totally up to you whether you wish to include the Company's Pty Ltd status in the logo (for those outside Australia, Pty Ltd is similar to Inc., etc and represents the Company's incorporation status). We'd lean toward it not being on the logo, but it should obviously be on the business cards and letterhead.

Please be advised that we will also be holding a competition for website design at the conclusion on this one.
