Further requirements

The different logo elements should subtly reflect the brand's values and hint at the meaning of its name. It should evoke simplicity, elegance and high-endness.

The logo should not be too complex (it shouldn't be an illustration for example) and should also avoid the corporate style (it is not your standard technology logo).

The logo as a whole would be the brand name with the visual as a decoration (ref: msn, bnp paribas and nicole mehta logos), however the visual must also be designed in a way that it could be used on its own, without the brand name, or with the brand name in smaller size below the visual.

The visual should be something that echoes the brand name, but not too obviously. Something like a stylized bee should be great, but I'm also open to other ideas that you may have. Drawings, whether cartoon-like or realistic, are to be absolutely avoided. Think shape, elegance and style. Check the createur-producteur, msn, bnp-paribas and christmas tree logos for reference.

The typography should be simple and clear, without excessive rigour or craziness, and the final a should evoke the greek letter alpha without being a true alpha. I have experimented with a Trebuchet MS Bold Italic that I manually "un-slanted" (see attached file) and tweaked, and though it obviously will need some more work to make it nice and coherent, this is the direction I want to go. You may experiment with other fonts if you are inspired, but please pay attention to the way I tweaked the a to make it evoke the alpha — that's how I want it to look like.

As for the colours, they should evoke high-end and be in tone with the brand. Logo should be usable on different background colours, namely dark grey (C=68 M=64 Y=66 K=68), honey (C=2 M=31 Y=100 K=0) and white (paper colour). A good idea would be to use those same three colours but feel free to propose something else if you see fit.

We will require layered Adobe Illustrator file (CMYK), with colour variations for each of the three background colours. Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo.
