Wukasin: there is a lot of entries here that do not follow exactly what i'm asking. However when i rate 4-star it's because at least one part of the logo is really interesting to me. That means it might be a good start for something. I don't believe being too restrictive regarding design, art, creation is a good idea. Let's the contest finish and see the results ;-)

Actually, i may repeat myeself, but there is a forum for that and maybe you want to write a few words there.
Your personal opinion - directly or indirectly - regarding other entries is not allowed.
Also, persuading the contest holder to your beliefs is not permited.
Focus on your design and if you have something to report, please do so in privite.
This are rules and no questioning about.
Regarding your studies, great for you also. I have a couple of fonts made by me and sold also.
My apologies jon8 for these discussions. You may remove them at your wish.
My bests
I agree with arpad - if the name is specifically a typographic logo then skilled manipulating of a basic font is really important. Otherwise you're just another stinky fish in the barrel with all the other guys/gals who can use the font. If a logo graphic goes along with it then I don't see that it's quite as important - but always a good idea if it fits the application.
ulahts - I meant my shading attempt was a mediocre attempt to live up to your command of logo presentation :D I spelled your name wrong in my title line.
