We're two guys running a publishing company on the Internet that's aimed at providing high-quality information products that help people 'crack out of their eggshells' through which they're keeping themselves small and basically keep their potential confined in a small eggshell.
With regard to the products we publish, you can think of topics like self-improvement, health, etc... basically any area of life in which people limit themselves.
Hence the terminology of "Crack Your Egg": people keep themselves small through this virtual 'eggshell' and refuse to shine... Through the information we publish, we try to help them crack that eggshell, unleash their potential, and shine again.
We have high standards for quality and integrity in that regard, and the materials we release are characterized by their honesty, 'mother wit', and not least a down-to-earth sense of humor... and not by any 'vagueness' or 'airy-fairy'-ness.
Crack Your Egg
Our target audience is very wide, due to the fact that we target various (existing) markets (self-improvement, health, fitness, small business, etc.). However, there's one common denominator in all of them:
These people want to improve their lives, break through their limitations, and just be a little bit more awesome and lead just a little bit more awesome lives.
And that's what we're trying to help them with by providing them with the high-quality type of products that we publish.
The 'Crack Your Egg'-concept sounds a bit funny, and it's supposed to be fun.
Nevertheless, the logo we're looking for needs to 'radiate' the fact that we're also sophisticated, and have high standards for quality and integrity.
So we need something that stands out in being playful, while still being elegant/sophisticated.
We've attached a document with some additional visual directions (particularly with regard to the image component), and examples of things we like. Please go through this document before you do anything to get a clearer idea of the directions that we're thinking about going into.
(the document is 4 pages, but also includes images, so you'll just get a quick idea of what we're thinking about and may give you some inspiration as well...)
Here's a quick abstract of it:
We're looking for two 'components' for this logo:
- Some sort of 'image' on the left side of the logo.
- The text 'Crack Your Egg', which would be placed to the right of the image component described above.
Feel free to experiment with colors (see also section 4 in the attached document).
Finally, we would like the following types of files:
- Source files (e.g. .psd and/or .ai)
- Web images (.jpg and layered .png (if applicable))
- Images suitable for print
