Youre right Emi! The logo's meaning = Hardcore Aggressive Sports Supplements for the average Ballerina! - Certainly not the Golds Gym crowd as requested in the brief! I know for a fact that the nutritional supplement industry is overly competitive and having a weak brand isnt going to do a company in this field any favours

I am very glad i had withdrawn my entries in perfect time to avoid this situation.
I have to add that this flame looks exactly like anyother overdone flame in the entire world and choosing the free font SpaceAge is just a perfect one for this client. He will do a trumendeous work to save his product.Congrats meko6!

Theres a multitude of CH feedback about being aggressive, the more aggressive the better, that they wanted stuff that could be a tattoo, that was just uber and overly aggressive looking, that they wanted originality and creativity.... and the winning design is like the most antiseptic, basic, expected vanilla thing.
Just kinda surprised me a bit, as my designs were in the finals.
In any case, oh well, nothing can be done now. On to the next one!!!

No you are right, logo design is about that. But thats assuming you as a professional are on one side of the table, and you are sitting across from other professionals on the client side. I think maybe on this site you tend to just be sitting across from the guy that makes his decision based on emotional responses along with the feedback of other guys that do the same and the professionalism isnt really on that side of the equation.
Nonetheless thats how this game works, no sense dwelling on it. I say congrats to the winner and move on to the next. My only real problem with contests like this is there was explicit requests from the CH for certain things, there was really a very plentiful collection of feedback from the CH that reinforced what was "desired", and then the winning design has no aspect of any of that. Makes me feel like the CH wasted my time by so forcefully leading the participants down a road that was never going to lead to a win. Thats got less to do with logo design as it does with CH's acting foolish.

Im always surprised when the winner of the contest had completely nothing to do with the brief description, any of the CH comments or feedback, or nothing really at all to do with what was requested.

We'd like to once again thank all of the designers who participated. The final decision was incredibly tough to make. We could have chosen any one of 12 finalists and been extremely happy. However, we had to choose one.

It's plain to see we've got several incredible designs. This has made it much more difficult than we anticipated. We are in the process of consulting with our marketing and interior design people and will make a decision in the next day or so. Again, thanks to all the designers for their hard work. You really exceeded our expectations!
