Well, we had a very tough decision to make on the logo design because we had so many good designs submitted. Congrats goes to mallory77 for submitting the winning design, and a special thanks goes out to all the finalists.

Here were our finalists:

1. mallory77 - your eighth revision, with some adjustments, will help us build a very attractive web brand.

2. ulahts - your keycode7 design was excellent - a simple and modern corporate image, but we just needed something a little more casual & shopper friendly.

3. jrowa - your 8th design was a really, realy good logo and icon, but ultimately the font was just a little too funky and the icon was just missing something. Your web designs really helped sell the design. I hope you continue with the web design competition when we extend it.

4. mojojojo - your 2nd design almost had us incorporate your great key character in everything we do. Very creative!

5. ega - your final design, keycode10, is excellent as well. Unfortunately the key symbol in the O was a little too phallic, but this was a unique logo.

I just want to take a minute and thank all of the logo designers. I am very impressed with the overall quality of designs submitted. I may not be available over this week end to check on the latest entries and revisions, but rest assured I will be back on Monday, 10/1/07 to choose a winner. Thank you all very much for your hard work.

Also - due to the lack of entries on the web site design, I am considering extending the website design portion of this contest. I may even have to relist it or raise the prize pool to try and attract more entries. This isn't to say that the current entry isn't likely to win at all, I just need to get a number of good submissions to run a valid contest.

Hey jrowa, thanks for participating! Yes, we are still looking for web designs. I assume some are working on them, while others may just want to compete for the logo only. Please feel free to your submit web designs.

I should probably also give a little more direction than what the general contest description gives.

The new Keycode.com design will be a cross between a shopping focused search engine and a destination site based on our current retail savings offers. Since our service is so content heavy with our content being text based offers, merchant logos, and product images/descriptions, we need to keep it light in feeling with lots of white. We can include nice general shopping images on te home page and on the category pages, but the bulk should be about ease of navigation and making a nice search results page.

Here are some examples of sites we like (from a design standpoint) in the shopping space: www.shopping.com and www.shop.com (when sized correctly).

Good question, molt. Our UK and Canadian sites have different urls, UKode.co.uk and Keycode.ca, so no. But we will eventually need comparable logos for those site variations. More design contests to come!
