We are looking for an abstract design to go on the front of a new Smart TV. The Smart TV case will come in a variety of finishes but the two main ones will be brushed aluminium and gloss black and so the emblem must look good in both cases.
The logo will need to come in a single block of colour, for the version we will place on the TV. We also require a version that we will use for the website, business cards etc. This means that the website and business card versions have some scope for graduated shading of gentle or colour.
The target audience for the TV will be mid 20's to 40's and they will reside initially in the UK and Europe but then spreading to US and Asia.
The Smart TV will deliver Video On Demand, Catch Up TV Services and high quality Apps.
These smart TV's will be exclusive top of the range and so the design needs to make people feel a sense of quality.
We don't yet have a brand name for the product itself, which I appreciate isn't ideal in terms of inspiration but we are more focused on the pictorial image of the design. We are not wishing to ever place the brand name next to the logo and so the logo needs to stand on its own.
We wish for the logo to become as iconic as the Apple or Nike emblem. You don't need to see the name of the company to recognise the brand instantly.
Another example of an logo, that just stands out without a name, is the Mercedes 3 pointed star emblem on the front of their cars.
It will help if you could show the logo on its own and also on the front of a TV. Quite a few entries are doing this and so it helps with see how it works when you put it in situ.
I suggest getting a picture of an LG or Samsung TV, both gloss black and brushed steel versions, and then replace manufacturers logo with yours.
