Here is my two cents this is not a forum, so bashing or promoting a design should not be done in her period. Us the PM or wait till they post up a forum to this site. Time for all to take a step back and think about it before you post. If you like or hat a design, pm it! If it is a rip on another design post it and post the image link as well as report it. This other BS has to end on here.

Well, the contest has closed and I can't believe the response. 2500 entries has to be a record! I think (most) everyone did an incredible job creating their designs, giving the ch revisions and giving the ch a run for their money weeding through all these. I don't envy them at all. To all my colleagues in this community I think we all deserve a hard earned pat on the back. To the CH good luck in making this decision, we hope to hear from you as soon as possible, as I'm sure many of us are on pins and needles.
To those involved in the CMYK vs Panatone discussion, I say thank you, because as a newbie to this field I found the discussion enlightening and offered merit to both sides. Gave me a lot to consider and I may need to PM some of you to pick your brain further.
To those of you who sling negativity on a regular basis I think I speak for everyone in saying that you're just not welcome here. Constructive criticism is one thing - and I welcome that, especially from more experienced designers than myself as they've done it longer than me and can use that experience & education to put a different spin on things than I may have considered. But there's a fine line between Constructive Criticism and just plain cruelty. I guess because this is the age of the world wide web and the people you criticize aren't ones you "face" every day you feel empowered to say whatever jumps into your head and your fingers type b4 you actually think. But we don't need that here. As a rule I try my hardest to only make positive comments that can help boost a designers self esteem. It's not about promoting a specific designer, who's a friend or relative, because I don't personally know anyone on this site except for the interactions I've had with them on this site. I just feel like if kudo's are due then why not give them. It doesn't effect the CH's decision in the least.
Sorry to add one more comment to this already full contest but why not, as my teenager would say "Everyone else is doing it".
    GOOD LUCK TO ALL! Mary

Wow! I came here while on my lunch break to see how it all went and this forum is crazy. I feel prompted to put my two cents in. I want to say first that anyone who cannot take a little constructive criticism should not read a forum they've posted on. Take any bad things said and at least try to turn it into something positive. Don't turn a blind eye or do the same in return.

Second I'd like to say that if I was a new business and I was looking for some type of design. I would welcome criticism, even the real harsh ones. It would let me know what other people thought, especially if they are posting legitimate comments. If a person is just bashing without cause, then it tells everyone else a little more about their personality. That bleeds into work ethic.
Regardless, I really would want to see the public's responses, whether they be positive or not. While PMing is really useful and has it's ups, it also has its downside.

As humans we are all learning together, take it all in and learn from our peers and experiences.

There are alot of people pointing fingers and making assumptions and people being negative about the negative. If you feel that someone is doing wrong or that they are judging you, dont dignify it with another negative response. Truelly, these little battles are what is a waste of time and forum space.

    Positivity guys n gals.
    Stay happy :D

good point Lorelei!!! @Reg Print that is just so LOW when I saw the comment I was thinking this has to be some young designer like me then i went to your profile to see your age and I am very surprised I can't believe that someone with that much "experience" talk's like that. Welcome and hope to see some "real effort" from you in future contests

Reg Print, it's fine that you don't like certain entries, but even though you are being (probably) the oldest designer here, doesn't give you the right to judge others.

After all, believe me, no one really cares what you think :) Everyone puts effort and talent into their work, and discouraging people by saying in public that their work was "rubbish" doesn't make YOU a better designer.

Welcome to 99designs, good start, eh..

Thankfully the contest is nearly over.
I don't think I ever read so many gratuitously mean comments in my life.
The Contest Holder has a right to choose what he/she likes best, even if we don't agree (surprise!!).
Please next time use the PM feature if you want to criticize someone directly. You'll also save face in front of the rest of the community.

@Reg Print, all 3 entries you consider rubbish definitely took time to be created, all are unique and eye pleasing in their own way. The one you mentioned as having put effort would take me 2 minutes to produce. Please don't make such comments seeing as you are a newbie and haven't entered this contest yourself....cheers! Good luck all!

Sorry to add to the clutter but I am interested in the Pantone discussion. I noticed there are about 10 different types of Pantone options(solid matte, metallic, etc). Which should I use? Someone I know recommended Pantone Solid Matte. Thanks for any help.

My god... There's some real rubbish being submitted now. Don't waste your time sending in stuff like #2290 #360 or #2649 ... pointless. I see others making efforts. Quite like #2907
