@Lucy
This area is for the contest hold to discus any entry on here. Or someone pointing out an issue with a design. This area is not for promoting work period. So if your offended by what I said that is your problem. Hey there is several designs I love but you know what I know after being told by staff on here not to say what design I like. And I think if anyone other then the host like a design then they should PM the designer they like it and not here as it looks like shameless promoting and nothing else.
i don't usually comment here but i feel offended at those who have taken a keen ineterest in the compliments i have been receiving and speculating their origin...
i do not shamelessly promote my work or ask anyone else to promote my work, i'd like for it to speak for itself so before people start shooting their mouths off and accusing me of getting a band of friends and family to publicly praise my work, please have the decency to ask me in priviate before making false accusations.
As a designer i value my reputation more than anything so a little consideration and respect here would be nice.
zoey: thanks for taking an ineterest in my personal life but i am already married.

well said silverleaf. ;)
LOL...nothing like friends, families or even the designers under a second name plugging their designs. The host should realize that posting #360, #2649 or any other design is shameless plugs and can't be taken serious. I've seen some very great designs on this but the host should decide a winner and not let any one on here sway them to any particular design period.
$5,000 dollars is 5,000 reasons not to listen to people boasting on here who's design is the best period. If you want to win the design then let your work do the talking.
my two cents on the pantone vs cmyk :)
All logos should be designed to be spot (pantone) and cmyk compatible. It is not feasible to expect a company to use the spot colour of it's version in all instances - even high end companies.
Look at magazine advertising for example - the cost of running a cmyk plus spot colour in a mag ad would be ridiculous. So in this instance CMYK would be the option. That's why you need to keep in mind when designing in spot colour what the cmyk will look like as it is different for a lot of colours (I know a lot of people know this, but some don't, so for their benefit).
Let's take PMS 164 for example. In pantone spot colour it's bright orange - out of cmyk its a lot duller and not as vibrant. So if designing a logo in orange this needs to be factored in to save any surprises to the client when their cmyk ad looks different to their stationery.
If you don't own a pantone colour bridge - I'd suggest getting one, it's shows the spot and cmyk versions side by side so you know what the colour will look like in different print applications.
Hope this makes sense!
:)
ok whatever you say tamz:) no marks on my entries.. i will have one last wildcard later to test the waters...lol
#676 and #2649 are the best logos on this contest! Even, #1816 is the good one-the "Y" letter from that logo could be used as the best shortcut for the company's logo! Very distinct!!!
#360
you gave my one concept 3 stars, I have since reviewed the base idea and developed it. I just want to make sure the revised versions gets looked at. Thanks destiny.
@ EOS . about stand alone icon I don.t know is that really that much important because if you take a look at cocacola or virgin records or IBM etc those are companies that are in busuness for a very long time and i think that if you can make companies name it self to look that simple and appealing that hole name can be a logo that's the best way for company to be recognized in future and then after you can take any part of logo for example just one letter of the logo and make an icon of that and everyone will recognize it

I don't need to suckup, ive known lucy for over 2 years now, so I really don't need to suck up for anything .. As you can see, she's quite good at what she does.
tamz is probably married to lucy or something... lol
EOS yes, it is cheaper to print with CMYK, but for this caliber of logo, Pantone should be used.
Sorry, for those of you who don't have access or even know the difference. Buts its important. Zen, impossible to exactly match CMYK colors on a variety of printers. May be close and may even match sometimes, but will be a fluke.

She is happily married my friend, and please leave this aside, everyone here throws his two cent on whats good and whats not, don't be kid by stating useless comments.
They will still get reviewed, but we won't have time to rate them all. If they are above 3 stars we will probably still rate them. In the last 24 hours it will really get down to the best ones that are remaining (you can still submit new ones of course, if they are good enough they can still make it)
Im just hoping the other designs get reviewed before a final decision is made. Thanks.

Looking forward to the ones that have not been graded for a review. Thanks.
