Hi everyone, I have made a decision on a winner - congratulations to tini1 for the winning design, I'm really thrilled with it. To the other shortlisted contestants, thankyou for your contributions. As I've said a few times, it's been really difficult to pick a winner as I have been very impressed by the quality of your entries. Sitepoint was recommended to me, and as a first-timer it has been a really professional and fast way to see my little logo design brief become a cool reality. All the best, Glambini :-)

Hi all, I've just finished shortlisting the entries so far. To those eliminated contestants, thankyou very much for your time and creative efforts. To those who are still in the competition, it's proving to be quite difficult to pick a winner, but I have narrowed it down to just a handful of entries. I will make a decision shortly. Many thanks as well for the revisions so far as well :-)

Hi everyone, thankyou for your entries so far. I'm at the stage of shortlisting a few entries. It has been very difficult as there are some fantastic ideas, and your patience while I try to make a decision is very much appreciated :-)

"I like all the designs but intrepidgupyy's" ??? - weird comment. I guess I would feel some weight behind your thought if you had actualy submitted a design....unless your a professional design consultant hired by Glambini - then I guess I'd just thank you for your opinion. :D

Undataka - reading license agreements before using other's material in your artwork is always better than being called out and forced to remove it - let alone the risk of being banned from sitepoint. We are not the ones who need to calm down. I look forward to your brainchild.

In addition to what jyon wrote, stock agencies usually don't allow use of their photos/illustrations as part of logos. Please read an agency's license agreement carefully before you use any of their content. Ignoring these agreements can get you into serious legal trouble.

For instance, here's what Istockphoto's license agreement says:

"For greater certainty, the following are "Prohibited Uses" and you may not:
    [...]
    4. use any of the Content as part of a trade-mark, design-mark, trade-name, business name, service mark, or logo;"

And from Sitepoint's rules (the link to these is at the bottom of every "Submit Contest Entry" page):

"Logo entries based on clipart, stock photography or stock artwork are not permitted."

It would be good if Sitepoint could put that sentence in bold red letters directly on the "Submit Contest Entry" page. It seems to be one of the most common mistakes made by designers on here, and it can lead to serious trouble for both the designer and the contest holder.

It`s beyond me how some of you can use stock photos and images that you didn`t even create yourself and slap the product name on there and submit them. The contest holders are willing to pay good money for quality designs and you would do that to them? Not to mention ignoring the rules which clearly state you cannot use stock photos or clip art in logo designs.
