I'd like to avoid using gradients and muted colors for the BadgeHungry logo. The exact blue I listed in my design brief is important.

I'm also very fond of the font of my current logo (which has been used for the last 5 years), but I feel the gradient/3d lighting effect is outdated. I prefer logos that are bold, crisp, and professional that I can use for both web and print.

For height and width, I'm looking for something more square to replace my current long rectangle of a logo. A rectangle is fine, but more 3:2 than 3:1 -- see the header mockup for a rough layout it will be primarily used in.
