CH ask TREdesign to do a design arround his entry at 813 medical. You didn't even sent in an entry on 813 so everybody would do the same. Ajust their entry to CH's needs.

I DO feel with you because it seems that he stole youre concept. But i know TREdesign just did what CH requested.

Intrepidguppy has just submitted a design that uses the caduceus staff, and yet manages to remain significantly different. If you cannot do the same (assuming you wish to use the staff, since you seem opinionated about the issue), then maybe Sitepoint really is coming to an end for you.

and now a note to the sitepoint team:

in this cases you should ask for an explanation from the designer. Then TREdesign could explain CH's request and choose to remove his entry.
Not ban first and wait for an explanation after. "you've been a good designer before so we are not suspending you any longer"

now i'm beginning to wonder:
"We wanted to clarify that one of our staff specifically asked (TREdesign)at the start of the contest if they could adapt a logo from a previous contest they entered!"

did your staff asked TREdisign to modify richardhenry´s design? Or his own entry on 813?
Because a medical staff is not a concept in my opinion when client ask for one. It was a fact that they wanted it so there would only be one entry possible?!

If that is the case reading Richard's comment, it's the end of sitepoint i believe.....
entry#1 with the requested biohazzard wins, all others will be banned because they steal the concept.

The issue was that TREdesign used the idea of the caduceus staff and the biohazard symbology in this contest, but I had done so in an earlier entry so I held the intellectual property over it.

TREdesign ignored my private message and later public comment requesting an explanation for this blatant rip-off, so I contacted Sitepoint administration to see if anything could be done. Without my consent or suggestion, they then obviously felt the need to ban him, which was perhaps a little harsh, but fair.

I have been contacted by a contestant wishing to use the caduceus staff, and here is my reply, which stands for any contestants:

The issue at hand here is the breach of international intellectual property law, whereby any entry into this contest that is similar to someone else's concept, breaks that law.

If you feel your entry is completely dissimilar to mine, then feel free to enter with it, but you are obviously worried about similarities since you are contacting me.

I would advise you to proceed with caution as Sitepoint admin are removing the entries of and banning any contestants where it appears they have copied anyone else's concept in any way, even if you came up with the idea of using the caduceus staff in another contest (this is a different contest, different name, and fresh ownership over ideas).

At risk of getting banned, it is up to you and I advise you to use your common sense when entering.

you're problem is that you are asking for the biohazzard (and now also the staff). Same as 813 asks for the meduza staff. They banned me too for that.

dangerous thing because there will always be a company arround who has the same bio hazzard or staff.
