Take it easy fellows. When i first draw a "horizon" type of logo some other people were playing with squares and shapes. That is nothing new and the wheel was invented long time ago.

    Concentrate on the designs.

wolv. If you are implying that I copied my design, I strongly deny it! But if we are opening that particular Pandoras Box. Do you really think every logo design on 99designs is unique? If the CH writes a good brief, then the designs should be similar. That's not the same as deliberately copying another design. One of the techniques of the less talented here is to wait and see which designs rate highly, read the comments of the CH regarding improvements and the submit their own logo. I never view the other entrants before starting work on a design and only check before uploading to ensure there is nothing close to what I've designed. From the CH's point of view, he/she should only be wary if there is a similar design in their particular industry. Yes, my design has the same technique as the design mentioned, but there are no copyrights on ideas, only on copying exactly someone elses artwork.
As an example, look at this logo by the company Pelephone, (www.pelephone.co.il) They were sued by Playboy because playboy claimed the Pelephone's logo resembles the Playboy bunny Logo (now changed slightly). Playboy lost the case! Copyright protection is only available for logo artwork that contains sufficient authorship! (U.S. Copyright office) We as a community (99designs) should strive to prevent plagiarism but all the bickering about similar designs is getting tiresome. If there is a pattern of deliberate copying by a particular "designer" he/she should be expelled by the owners of the site.

thats why its called a brief :) its supposed to be short.

maybe there could have been a few more details, but overall i think it was good enough to get us going. bank like, not too high tech, the name, what they do. badabing, logo started.

Please give us more information about your company, industry. Give us details. Your brief is very poor.
