All Designers:
I would have waited another day, to complete the seven day contest period, but as a result of the issues that came to light because I was holding a seven day contest, I decided to designate the contest winner one day earlier.
I would like to thank all of the designers that took the time to submit their designs to this contest. I believe this contest provided the basic foundation to the competitive spirit that 99designs.com had in mind when they created their “concept” website, and I believe that it also provided a forum of collaboration among the designers, contest holders and visitors, alike. Everyone learned from this contest.
Although I did provide somewhat detailed descriptions at the beginning and during this contest, Bronking provided me additional guidance that I had not thought of as it pertained to the consistency of the brand (ERRII) and its subsidiaries. This additional guidance turned Bronking into the winner.
Warmest regards,
Elvis
Does the fifth logo, subsidiary #4, have a name?
If I may ask. What type of font are you leaning toward right now?
Yes, it is still open. You have 2 days and 3 hours to submit your design. Please read the requirements carefully.
Warmest regards,
Elvis
Is this contest still open ? I'd just like to make sure before participating.
All designers, present and future - Part II
It seems like I’m the one losing the time here. This contest was supposed to be quick, easy and painless. Obviously some of you are not seeing the trees in spite of the forest.
Again, as I mentioned to some of you privately, this entire process is a collaborative effort between the designer and the contest holder. That means that you, the designer, work with the contest holder and visa versa. It’s that simple. Designers should keep in mind, throughout this process, that you cannot expect the contest holder to “eat” your first, second or third design just because you designed it and then expect to get paid for a design that the contest holder really is not happy about. Remember, it is a 7 day contest. In my case, if a designer had come up with the design on the first try, this contest would have been over on day one. However, that did not happen.
According to the concept of 99 designs, the contest holder has a 7 day window to decide, which design they are going to choose. That's exactly what I am doing here. It gives the designer and the contest holder the opportunity to work through the design whereby both parties are happy with the results at the end. If I do not like the design and I am using you as my designer, I have the right to request a change. If you, as the designer, cannot understand what it is to collaborate with the contest holder, particularly with people who pay you, then I suggest you find another line of work whereby you don't have to work with people. I have 2 days and 8 hours to go. Time is a wasting.
Additionally, if you truly read the email threads I have posted, I have afforded you, the designer, the opportunity for more work, after this contest. And let’s not forget the referrals I’ll be providing you, if you are the designer that wins the contest. Have any of you ever heard the term “6 degrees of separation?” If you have heard for the term, then you understand the benefit you, the designer, will receive if you win.
Granted, I am not a designer nor am I schooled in the art of logo design, I do know, based on my research and self-study that it really does not take that long to put designs together; particularly if you do this in your day job. Just like in my industry, when I conduct an investigation, because of my experinece as compared to the novice investigator, the results are faster, clearer and more concise. I would presume it to be the same for the experienced designer.
Warmest regards,
Elvis
im out too..time lost here
I wonder if people that are focused on designing that first logo know that they will only be payed $150 for it. just a reminder! good luck to all of you. as for me, I'm done with this contest. looks like too much work and criticism for $150.
B:
Then take the challenge and be rewarded.
Warmest regards,
Elvis
Absolutely correct Elvis. Your contest is great. very challeging and very rewarding.
All designers, present and future:
Ladies and Gentlemen, please understand that the spirit of the contest is to see, from my perspective, who is the best designer for the work I need done; plain and simple.
Please do not allow your emotions to get involved on what could amount to be a great working relationship.
If I comment on your design, it will be, as it has been, directly to you and not in open forum. It will also be as a result of the design not being quite there yet, and I, as the paying customer, have the right to get what I want for my money as my customers do from me in my industry.
The comments I have made thus far are predicated on the fact that some designers are not reading the requirements (description) as I have laid out when I first initiated this contest.
So, people, come on, lighten up and show me what you have in your tool kit.
Warmest regards,
Elvis
thanks, penflare!
ordonez, nice nice nice nice job man ;) keep up the great work
nearly there.
my first will be up in 1/2 hr
All concerned:
$750.00 is for all 5 logos. I had two choices; make one contest for all five logos, or five separate contests. I chose the former to save time.
The research I have conducted on logo developemnt and commensurate costs, indicates that on average a logo goes for $150.00.
Additionally, the winner gets to work on revamping my website. So, there is more money to be made, in the long run, if you're patient and you work with me.
I am a start-up so as you can imagine I am not rolling in the dough. I know that might not mean anything to some of, or all of you but, that is my situation at the moment.
Thank you for your interest. For those of you who stay, want the challenge and work, good luck.
Warmest regards,
Elvis
excuse me but you ask about 750 dollars for one logo or for 5 logos?? because if you think all 5 logos it logic that uone logo payments will be 150 dollars!!
