- Brief Overview
- We are entrepreneurs with diverse interests ranging from crowdsourcing, open source software, sustainable architecture, and clean energy. Within our immediate geographic area, Boston, MA, there is an ideal ecosystem for fostering emerging business models. We think the key element to catalyzing this fortunate mix is a place where people can interact and build on each other's ideas. The common thread in clean economies is an interest in leveraging new technologies to create fresh business models that can contribute positively to society, the environment and a more sustainable economy. clean economies will be an interactive blog and monthly event that promotes the confluence of ideas, people and technologies. Our audience includes college/graduate students of all concentrations, entrepreneurs, professionals and venture capitalists. Our mission is to create the best possible platform for meaningful conversation. This means designing a forum that fosters open conversation and collaboration between people whose interests, when cross pollinated, produce the fittest ideas. [We will include winning designers name and link on the bottom of the footer when we finish building the website after this logo and site are designed and coded.]

- Target Audience
- There are three main audiences. College/graduate students, entrepreneurs, professionals and venture capitalists interested in capitalist ventures that create positive change. Since we are based in Boston, the first event will consist mostly of individuals in the greater Boston region. This means there will be a high population of students (engineering and business), recent grads and VCs. These individuals all share a belief in technology and entrepreneurship as a solution to many of the world's problems.
- Requirements
- High-res logo in .eps, .psd, .jpeg and .gif formats. Look & Feel: In keeping with the concept of "clean," we want to achieve a clean, yet bold look and feel. Simplicity rules. Examples of aesthetics that we admire are: IBM's Smarter Planet Campaign (http://tinyurl.com/lkqx7w) What we like about this is the icons for each section (smart energy, smart government, smart health, etc). They are attractive to us because they speak volumes yet require little attention for readers to understand. This reinforces the theme of simple usability and clean aesthetics. Spark Capital (http://sparkcapital.com/about) This "conflux" concept is interesting to us because it also illustrates the combination of three elements. In our case it is ideas, technology and people. A visual similar to this could be very effective in conveying our mission to viewers. Zen Habits (http://zenhabits.net/) We are attracted to this look & feel because of its simplicity and openness.
