Well idea's get 'borrowed' here from each other, fact.
BUT, it happened to me that I got a similar idea and
the designs looked alike, but I didn`t copy, not the other one.

The weirdest thing that happened to me that I made design, and
later I bought a book and the design idea was there. I bought
the book two weeks after making that particular design.
(and I am not lying, it was an eyeopener ;))

So sometimes people DO get to the same idea, and
they can be similar.

The only way to be sure here, is if only the contestholder can see
all the designs, and the participants can`t. But we had that discussion
here before and that would ofcourse hamper the development, because the
contestholder couldn`t point out what kind of design he liked more.

So I accepted that sometimes your idea gets nicked, or borrowed, or parts of it.
(Even in later contests) and when I don`t longer accept this, I will just quit
this site. But that isn`t now yet. ;)

Man daveturton don't you have anything better to do that to go around posting lies? I have worked with mainero on several projects and I've seen his portfolio many times, all his designs are HIS. He is a great designer and so are you. To Wize Lizard. I looked everywhere too and I didn't find any castle at all. I think they were buddies or something and they got in a fight so now one is trying to throw crap at the other. Maybe mainero slept with daves wife? LOL

You can look everywhere dave , even at my porfolio and you wont find anything thats not my own. I agree with dddesign why don't you post some works and participate instead of posting false accusations. And Imon if you have any complaints or comments please let me know I'm interested.

this is second or third contest where i see this dave guy whit the same story about somebody stealing designs from him,what is your problem man? can you just submit something so i can copy your design HAHAHA

There seems to be a lot of that going on. If any of you saw the contest for storage.com which ended today one of the early entries was basically stolen/photoshopped from some guy's portfolio. Luckily someone noticed and the entry got removed. It's not only unfair to the artist being ripped off but it's unfair to the person running the contest paying good money for the logo and us entrants actually putting time and creativity into these.

seconded. you are absolutly right.

This site is full of people copying other peoples work. This mainero guy has ripped my work off from iStockphoto a couple of times but the people that run this website don't seem to care. Proof that he is a thief is the fact that his portfolio is sooo erratic. You can just bail down proportion and color and then you next design just completely miss it. I just want you kind folks to know that the thieves are thick on this site.
