There are two concepts you guys are discussing: 1) low prize money 2)value of the contest to a potential winner. On the first point: the prize money is low and as a result, I notice a few vigorous, good designers not entered here. That's the pragmatic aspect to this first point. Additionally, I ask myself about the rationalle of offering such a low prize. Perhaps it has something to do with being fiscally responsible...hmm. On the second point: yes it would be a nice portfolio piece. So, we each weigh for ourselves the cost/benefit ratio. I certainly didn't enter to get rich. On the other hand, all things concidered (prize, nature of feedback, etc.), I'm not inclined to invest in more than one kick at the can. Good luck to everyone still in it.

Of course it does. The better your portfolio, the easier it is to get work.

Also, did you consider the benefits beyond the money? If Adam wins and you won the contest, you could put the logo in your portfolio.

bonojerry - Wa wa...that's a pathetic message. Who cares what it's for? A project is a project.

I am choosing not to participate because even though your prize money is allowable, the prize money is bad form for someone running for governor of a state...it shows a lack of respect for designers.

squarelogo, the "For Indiana" in your #1 entry is difficult to read based on the font, otherwise I like it a lot.
