Thanks to everyone who submitted work to this contest. We were boggled at how willing some many of you were to making changes along the way, and our final decision was a tough one to make.

There were so many good entries that would have made excellent logos had we chosen different directions than the one we did. It almost wants us to develop other projects, just to be able to tap into the wealth of talent here.

    Again, thanks to everyone!

Nice entry #2 GreboGuru. Like that chef's hat/bison amalgam.

On Tuesday night, we'll narrow the field down by about half, based on the direction we'd like to take the project. If your work gets cut, it doesn't mean it isn't good. It just isn't what we're looking for.

Overall, the entries have been pretty good. We're looking at a fairly casual shop, with a somewhat rustic feel to the decor. Lots of wood and brick. Fine lines and details don't really complement that. Bold, informal, leaning heavily toward fun, but without being funny. Maybe light-hearted is an apt description. This is feel-good food, sometimes with a healthy spin to it, but you can only make sweet treats so healthy before they stop being treats. The logo should reflect all of that, in a form that's more vertical than horizontal (bags are vertical, aprons are vertical, menus are vertical...), and clean-looking. Hopefully, that will help steer the design thoughts a bit more toward where we're hoping to go.
