CloseDesign brief
Year of Youth is an organization dedicated to finding, equipping, and engaging youth into the political process who are dedicated to the ideals of localism, liberty, and responsibility.
We offer manuals, campaign training, and tactical support for youth to inspire and support them in the political process.
Think of us as organizers and mobilizers.
Three words the logo should capture: Youth, Freedom, Action
Year of Youth
Youth (target age 18-25) who are attracted to the ideas of freedom. Because it is for mainly youth, it should reflect some aspects of pop-culture society.
As well, there should be a note of seriousness to it meaning our organization is not to be taken lightly.
Our audience expects our image to reflect a "fresh face for America" sort of theme and a new beginning starting with the youth who are dedicated to freedom and liberty in all aspects of life.
Current Logo:
http://youthlibertyfront.com/images/logo.jpg (too generic, bad for print, common texts, no unification of logo and text)... we don't like it.
General aesthetics:
--Preferred Red, White, Blue (black if a darkening element is needed)
--Stylized text
--Use for web and for print (maybe a version with gradients [web] and one with solid colors [print])
--Reflects in some manner our goals as an organization
--Represents the Youth, and peaceful revolution.
--Not overly complicated, yet catchy (don't want it too busy)
Other Requirements:
--Our name (Year of Youth) with a new logo.
--A logo that can stand by itself, and can also easily add our main project called "Project 2012" (This is not required, but if the logo can stand with just our name, and with "Project 2012," that is a plus--meaning two separate graphics if possible) See our current website at http://www.YearofYouth.org
We do NOT want:
--Eagles, Fists, Liberty Bells, Flags, Statue of Liberty, Torches, Peace symbols, old and dead white guys, etc. (we are trying to create our own image).
Freedom in being creative is encouraged, Possible scenarios (not exhaustive, however):
--A text with background that can stand by themselves
--A logo that incorporates the text (think Circle with graphic and text)
--Incorporation of our URL: www.YearofYouth.org
--Possible emphasis on "you" in Year of Youth
Final design must be in very high quality, preferably in .psd format with layers and one vector based output.
