Unfortunately I don't think it will help us for this contest in particular. I suggested this idea before knowing the refund.
I ask from 99designs a full disclosure but I did not get an answer for what special reason they refund the holder yet.
I don't think that a CH holder get refunded easily, at least I don't wont to believe it.
Hope that my suggestion at least will deter future non responsible CH on rely on abandon guaranty contest and but more important than that -is to keep 99designs from deciding what to do with "our" prize.
In my point of view 99designs was no less honest than our CH in this case. The least they can do is to disclose the info and of cause not silence our frustration with false announcement.
That's a great idea CreateHive. I'll vote, but how does the winner get the prize if the CH already got a refund?
Yes. I need votes to fix this issue. I'd posted on 99design blog my sugestion and need all the vote I can get!! You can see my proposal bellow.

If CH of guaranty contests wont choose a win put it to vote
Thought that a guaranteed contest is a safe venue? Think again. In case a CH backs out, he doesn't get a refund (good), but the designer still get nothing (not so good).
I suggest a voting system, where the designers that posted designs in the abandoned contest can vote for a winner (each designer needs to vote for other designer, he cannot vote for himself), and so the best designer still wins the prize. Each entry submitted by a designer gets him or her one vote, and so those who worked the hardest get to weigh in more.
This voting system will be activated after the 7 days extension that the CH have to choose a winner.
Thanx
Paula
So much for the credibility of the "guaranteed" contest. Maybe there should be a new category: "Guaranteed - Sort of"
After some corresponders with the 99designs about our poor situation here, I just got a mail from them that says that they refunded the contest holder, because a special situation.
So I'm not surprise that a lot of guaranties contest CH not taking us serious.
100 + submitions , but still not enough ..
no idea .. no feedback .
which way designers work ?
If the design not reflect his needs its because his luck of collaboration.
If along all the competition as CH you don't actively participate by giving constructive feedback or at least showing logins, you cannot really aspect from the designer to read your mind.
I feel that my time and efforts on this particular contest were disrespect by the CH not only by not choosing a winner but along the entire process too.
Unfortunate considering many designers put in time on this contest. I think it would have helped if the contest holder gave more feedback on designs to help give us direction. Either way, not professional.
The contest holder has requested a refund as they are not happy with any of the designs. This contest is a guaranteed contest, so I have suspended this contest as the contest holder has broken their guarantee to the designers.
Thanks Josh!
Thanx, very appreciate it :-)
#32 is pretty cool!
DESIGN # 79 AN EMERGENCY LIGHT DESIGN (THE ONE SEEN MOUNTED ON WALLS)
Hope you like it.
Hi I would like to join this contest but I'm not sure what you want - is it possible to give feedback to and rating to designers? It would help all to make better picture of what you are looking for.
Hello and thank you for the submissions so far. A note to all designers: AccessFixtures.com sells light fixtures for commercial and industrial applications, not for homes, not lamps, not bulbs, and not leds. Think of big fluorescent fixtures, exit signs, emergency lights, offices, warehouses, and parking lots. Nearly 100% of the business will be B2B or B2G (govt). I'm not too crazy about anything so far. Design #3 is alright, it's simple and works, and like #14, and I like the idea of having a light fixture shine on the name, although like I just said the focus needs to be commercial / industrial fixtures, my design resembles home track lighting, and might be a bit too colorful. If somebody wanted to try making an exit sign that said AccessFixtures instead of exit it might be cool. Thanks and good luck.
Any feedback?
