Unforgettable English
I create iPhone apps for people who have a long-term goal of becoming fluent in English.
Education
I want an iPhone app icon designed of a wizard casting a spell that creates a big explosion of energy, and the word "English" coming out of the explosion of energy. The icon size should be 1024x1024 and at the end of the contest I would like the PSD file.
Here are some details:
1. The colors should be vivid. The wizard should have shading and colors to add dimension to the character. He shouldn't look like a flat sketch. It should be a style that would look good as an iPhone app icon.
2. I would like for the wizard to have an empty open hand in the shape like he is focusing energy, or he could be holding something like a wand.
3. In big readable letters, the word "English" should come out from the explosion of energy. Almost as if the wizard cast a spell that summoned the word "English". See my rough sketch for an example.
4. There should be a suitable app icon background.
I want to convey that this app is a powerful, new way to learn English. It's like magic how effectively the app improves your English. I want the icon to have a powerful, epic look and feel. I want it to seem as if the wizard is casting a spell, or focusing his energy, and from the explosion of energy comes the word "English".
If I am happy with the result, the winner of this will be strongly considered for working directly with me for my future app icons. I have another app icon that I will be needing done in the next month, and more in the future.
The picture "wizard.jpg" is an example of a wizard with a gesture and body position that I like.
rough_sketch.png has a rough sketch that I drew as an example of a concept that could work. Note that in the sketch I wrote the word "English" too small. In the icon, I would like the word "English" to be very readable and very prominent.
UPDATE: In the sketch I drew the wizard holding a wand, but I think I would like it better if he didn't have anything in his hand, he just has his hand in a cool gesture like he is focusing energy.
