Why should I report a contest?

By reporting contests, you help us keep 99designs a great community for designers and contest holders alike. Please report any contests you see that fall into any of the following categories:

  • Inappropriate Content

If an inappropriate contest is posted, please let us know as soon as possible so we can deal with it.

We have a list of what we consider inappropriate but in a nutshell, if you think anyone would find it offensive, please report it.

  • Incorrect Category

Sometimes contest holders need a little help knowing where their contest fits. Please let us know when a contest holder has got it wrong and we’ll fix it up.

  • More Than One Design Task in a Contest

This is not allowed, even if some designers are keen. Please report these contests and we’ll work with the contest holder to get the best possible result.

  • Asking for Services We Don’t Provide

If you see any contests asking for services we don’t provide — even if some designers are willing to provide them (such as a web design contest asking for development work) — please report them.

  • No Winner Chosen

If a contest has been abandoned, please wait for seven days after the review period has ended before bringing this to our attention. Contest holders often need this long to present all the options to their stake holders.

  • Unusual or Suspicious Activity

If anything about a contest strikes you as a little odd – let us know. It may be something in the brief, or a comment on the contest, or maybe there’s something not right about the selected winner. Whatever it is, we have a team of sleuths to get to the bottom of it.

Always remember that posting comments about any of these problems are likely to lead to damaged reputations and refunded contests.
