Why can't I get my site coded on 99designs?

Designing and writing the HTML for a web site are two separate tasks, requiring separate tools and skills. We believe that forcing designers to write HTML and CSS as well as design your site leads to inferior designs, so we don’t allow such contests on 99designs.

Imagine you were building a house. Sure, you might be able to find someone who can throw the whole thing together, but you’d be far more comfortable if you hired specialist architects, carpenters and plumbers to work on your home.

It’s the same with building a web site—those who specialise in pushing pixels in Photoshop don’t necessarily have the skills to make their designs into HTML code. Some do, but most don’t.

Our coding partners, Thinktank Media, are experts in WordPress, HTML and CSS, so we’ve partnered with them to offer a coding service for WordPress themes.
